Job Title:

Chemical Manufacturing, Production Supervisor

Job Description:

We are seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor- Chemical Manufacturing to lead specialty chemical manufacturing operations at our Ambler site. This working supervisor will guide and develop the production team while actively participating in chemical synthesis, purification, batch execution, equipment operation, and troubleshooting.

You will help build a culture focused on safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement while partnering with Engineering, Quality, Planning, EHS, Logistics, and New Product Development.

What You'll Do
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of chemists, technicians, and production employees.
• Set daily priorities and allocate resources to meet production schedules and customer commitments.
• Work alongside the team in chemical synthesis, purification, packaging, material handling, and batch execution.
• Operate and troubleshoot reactors, vessels, filtration systems, distillation equipment, ovens, rotovaps, and related process equipment.
• Support manufacturing processes such as polymerization, esterification, distillation, extraction, filtration, chromatography, crystallization, and vacuum drying.
• Ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with batch records, SOPs, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and audit-ready production documentation.
• Lead safety investigations, corrective actions, equipment reliability efforts, and continuous improvement projects.
• Monitor and improve safety, quality, throughput, yield, delivery, inventory, and cost performance.
• Collaborate across functions to support production planning, process optimization, scale-up, technology transfer, and new product introductions.

What We're Looking For

Required
• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of manufacturing, operations, or specialty chemical production experience.
• At least 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of chemical synthesis and purification processes.
• Experience in a manufacturing, laboratory, or regulated production environment.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead a team while remaining actively involved in daily manufacturing operations.

Preferred
• Experience in specialty chemicals, semiconductor materials, pharmaceuticals, or advanced materials.
• Familiarity with ISO, GMP, or comparable quality systems.
• SAP, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or SPC experience.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting process equipment.
• Experience supporting process scale-up or commercialization.

Physical Requirements
• Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, and work throughout manufacturing and laboratory areas.
• Ability to work safely around hazardous chemicals and wear required PPE, including a respirator and chemical protective equipment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain respirator certification.
