- Safety
- Maintains current knowledge of all patient safety standards and National Patient Safety goals and consistently incorporates into nursing practice.
- Able to safely administer medications and blood/blood products using the 7 (seven) rights of medication and blood administration. Uses 2 (two) separate hospital approved identifiers to safely identify the patient prior to medication / blood administration.
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic work environment at all times and identifies and addresses problems to the appropriate departments.
- Adheres to principles of infection control, including medical and surgical asepsis and isolation techniques. Demonstrates aseptic technique while conducting sterile dressing changes, urinary catheterizations, and other similar duties.
- Receive, interpret and implement physician orders in a safe and timely manner. Uses hospital approved process for telephone and / or verbal orders that include a readback of all orders.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Graduate Education level necessary to obtain required licensure and certifications 1 year of operating room/ surgical experience. If operational conditions permit, training a candidate without the required experience may be considered.,
- High School GED, upon hire
- Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, AmericanHeart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support, AmericanHeart Association (AHA)
Preferred
- Bachelors Other, upon hire
