What you will do

As CFO, you will be a key member of the executive leadership team and report to the President of the Volvo Autonomous Solutions US, LLC. You will be responsible for establishing the financial infrastructure of this newly formed subsidiary and preparing the company for the potential opportunity of external fundraising. You will oversee accounting, financial planning, strategy, investor relations, compliance, and risk management. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and is passionate about scaling innovative technology businesses from inception through investment. You will also coordinate closely with Volvo Autonomous Solutions AB senior management including the President and CFO.

Key Responsibilites:

  • Spear the financial strategy, optimize pricing models, and establish key performance indicators.
  • Lead financial structuring, and due diligence for potential future fundraising rounds and strategic partnerships.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting, tax compliance, and accurate U.S. GAAP financial reporting.
  • Govern and optimize our outsourced Finance-as-a-Service providers to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Design and implement comprehensive risk frameworks and robust internal controls.
  • Ensure strict adherence to industry-specific transportation regulations and manage corporate insurance portfolios.
  • Analyze unit economics, contract profitability, and Customer Lifetime Value to refine and optimize our core business model.
  • Drive fleet profitability through deep-dive data analytics and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain strong governance structures for the executive team and Board of Directors.
  • Deliver compelling, transparent financial reports and act as a primary financial representative to the shareholder and potentially the broader financial community.


Who are you?

  • Progressive professional experience as CFO or senior finance executive in a start-up or high-growth tech company. You have worked on both a strategic and operational level and are comfortable to do so also in this role.
  • You are a true finance professional with high integrity who is a trusted and skilled counsel to the President and executive leadership team with matters related to the development of business and organization.
  • Able to demonstrate a clear vision, a global mindset and you have a proven track record of successfully building working relationships and operating effectively as a member of a leadership team.
  • Known for your managerial courage, business acumen and trust - coupled with a strong execution mindset. You have strong interpersonal skills; you communicate in a clear and engaging way and you facilitate cross-functional collaboration and networking.
  • Have completed a master's degree or equivalent in Finance and Business, as well as a professional certification (CPA or CMA).
  • You have a strong understanding of venture capital, fundraising and financial modeling coupled with experience in transportation, logistics or autonomous technology.

For this position, the base pay is set at $178,900.00 - $273,700.00/ hour, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
