BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
Pay: $63,420 - $99,660
Hours: Morning Shift Monday-Friday
Location: 100 MSC Dr, Jonestown, PA 17038
The Customer Fulfillment Center (CFC) Operations Manager oversees multiple departments and partners closely with building leaders to achieve operational objectives and maintain optimal service levels. This role provides functional, technical, and process leadership across the CFC, driving operational excellence and supporting cross-functional teams in the successful execution of strategic initiatives. The Operations Manager also champions organizational culture, monitors key performance indicators (KPIs), and fosters continuous improvement to ensure long-term success.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Manages multiple departments and daily workflows to ensure service levels are met, deliveries depart on time, WIP targets are achieved, and labor is optimized.
- Monitors KPIs and drives continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
- Collaborates with Facilities Management to resolve maintenance issues efficiently and enhance diagnostic knowledge of conveyor controls throughout the CFC.
- Works with IC/QA teams to ensure inventory and quality standards are maintained.
- Supports Lean Specialists, Safety Specialists and Engineering team in driving improvements.
• Conducts meetings with supervisory team to foster communication and discuss improvement opportunities. • Attends cross-functional meetings to ensure consistent communication and address any associate concerns. • Analyzes Goods-Out and Goods-In procedures and processes and identifies improvement opportunities. • Monitors and ensures that CFC security procedures are being adhered to. - Shares "best practices" with other CFCs.
- Promotes safe work practices.
- Ensures completion of all necessary administrative duties including; timely completion of bi-weekly payroll, associate performance reporting, compliance documentation, etc.
- Operates basic and advanced warehouse vehicles. Identifies any equipment training needs & ensures equipment safety compliance.
- Assists with the budget process.
- Drives leadership development through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards while mitigating operational risks.
- Ensures Overtime and Operational costs remain within budget.
- Performs all duties inherent in the role of MSC manager as defined in the MSC code of conduct including hiring, termination, review and development of associates.
- Implements and fosters the Safety Culture alongside the Global Safety department through direct input, participation and resource management.
- Supports sustainability initiatives by reducing waste, optimizing energy usage, and promoting environmentally responsible practices. Develops local leadership team goals regarding safety metrics and support the achievement of those goals.
- Promotes associate engagement through recognition programs, training opportunities, and career development pathways
- In order to meet customer service requirements, associates can be re-assigned to other warehouse functions.
- Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
- Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS What You Need: - High school diploma or the equivalent required.
- Minimum of five years job-related experience required.
- Minimum of five years management/supervisory experience required.
- Knowledge of computers required.
- Good verbal and written communication skills required.
- Good working knowledge of the distribution process required.
