Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care for women throughout their reproductive life
  • Manage and deliver care during labor and postpartum
  • Conduct routine gynecological examinations
  • Participate in call rotations with physicians and other midwives
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Utilize in-house lab and surgical facilities as needed
  • Promote patient education and prenatal counseling

Full Job Description
Overview

Our affiliated practice, TotalCare for Women, is seeking a Full Time Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM).

Practice Highlights:
  • Well established practice with a great team of experienced physicians
  • Excellent mentorship available to new graduates
  • Practice consists of 3 OB/GYNs 3 CNMs 2 NPs
  • Patient census: 20-25/day - approximately 60 births per month
  • Full Autonomy
  • Call schedule 1:4 [one call a week, 5 weekends a year]- shared weekend call with 11 physicians with sister care centers- all call is triaged through CNMs/Hospitalist
  • Affiliated with Chesapeake Regional Medical Center
  • In-House lab and some surgery w/anesthesia in office
  • Could be licensed in both NC and VA - 4 care centers (2 in VA, 2 in NC)

  • Graduate of a nurse-midwifery education program accredited by ACNM Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME)
  • Master's degree in Nursing (MS/MSN)
  • Active and unrestricted state registered nurse (RN) license
  • CPR and NALS Certification
  • Current Unrestricted DEA License or ability to obtain
  • One year of full-time experience as a CNM is preferred
