Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Category Manager – Electrical Components to join our Procurement Organization. The Procurement Category Manager will work cross functionally within International interfacing with R&D, Program Management, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, Risk Management, Finance, Aftersales, and Supply Chain. As Category Manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing the category sourcing strategy, driving cost reductions, supply base management and negotiating agreements.

 

Position is Onsite

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute category strategies to align with International’s business objectives
  • Lead strategic sourcing decisions and supplier selection for new product launches as well as current business for improved cost, quality, or delivery opportunities
  • Analyze category spend to identify and develop savings opportunities using a variety of procurement levers including competitive bidding, global sourcing, negotiation, technology, supply chain/footprint optimization, target costing, etc.
  • Research industry trends, global markets, benchmark data, and understand underlying cost drivers
  • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve best overall total cost of ownership
  • Execute legal agreements such as Comprehensive Supply Agreements and Development Agreements
  • Build strong strategic partnerships with suppliers to ensure product quality, on time delivery, and service meet or exceed expectations
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
  • At least 1 years of lead experience

  • Master's degree and at least 3 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
  • At least 1 years of lead experience

OR

  • At least 8 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience
  • At least 1 years of lead experience

Desired Skills

Procurement background in managing electrical components and semi-conductors with experience in the automotive or commercial vehicle industries or manufacturing preferred
