What you will do:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to lead and coach in a development operations environment as the Business Unit Lead of the Rapid Prototype Casting Laboratory (RPCL) to develop and manufacture advanced castings for turbine engines. These castings enable materials an increase in the temperature capability of jet engine components. Through successful development of these castings, P&W will deliver engines that are more fuel efficient, lighter weight, and more durable for commercial and military applications. In this role, you will manage and provide vision and direction for the entire operations team of the RPCL. Additionally, you will lead efforts in continuous improvement for safety, employee engagement, quality, production, and cost reduction.

The Casting Lab Operations Manager's responsibilities include:
  • Lead the operations organization of the RPCL that includes a shop supervisor, master scheduler/material planner, operations engineer, and bargaining unit employees with an emphasis on team building
  • Manage the resources and requirements across the manufacturing cells
  • Establish operations schedules taking into account dynamic customer requirements, resource availability, and other priorities
  • Manage projects, including capital equipment installations, and lead continuous improvement and EH&S improvement activities
  • Establish and recruit to head count targets to meet capacity needs
  • Help to develop and enforce standardized operations practices, tools, and methods for the operations cells
  • Actively manage time accounting to achieve program cost targets and overhead budgets
  • Drive continuous improvement and lean principles to meet business targets


Qualifications you must have:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in operations, manufacturing, operations or related field and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience
  • U.S. Citizen - U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.


Qualifications we prefer:
  • Leadership/managerial experience in Operations or Engineering
  • Clear, concise, and effective communication skills
  • Experience working with all levels of management and experience in a union environment
  • Prior experience in process engineering in the aerospace industry
  • Highly self-directed, quick learner, with a strong drive for results
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Knowledge and effective practice of aerospace quality practices like ISO9001 and AS9100

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
