WNA CPAs is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead client accounting and advisory services while working closely with clients and firm leadership across a variety of tax, accounting, and consulting engagements.
This is more than a traditional accounting manager role. Position Summary
The CAS Manager will oversee the firm's Client Accounting Services practice, including outsourced accounting, financial reporting, month-end close processes, advisory services, and client relationship management.
This position serves as a trusted advisor to business clients while helping develop internal staff, improve processes, implement technology solutions, and expand the firm's advisory capabilities.
This role requires a proactive professional who can operate independently within the firm's established priorities while exercising sound judgment, communicating effectively, and taking ownership of client service and project outcomes.
The ideal candidate combines strong accounting knowledge with a passion for helping businesses improve operations, profitability, and financial visibility.
Key Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Relationship Management
• Serve as a primary advisor for CAS clients
• Meet regularly with business owners and management teams to discuss financial results and operational performance
• Help clients understand key financial metrics, cash flow trends, and business opportunities
• Identify opportunities to improve client outcomes and expand services
Accounting Operations
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting engagements
• Review financial statements and supporting workpapers
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end close processes
• Assist clients with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis
Leadership & Team Development
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff
• Review work and provide coaching and technical guidance
• Assist with workload planning and resource allocation
• Help establish best practices and standardized procedures
Process Improvement & Technology
• Lead initiatives focused on automation, efficiency, and workflow improvement
• Evaluate and implement accounting technology solutions
• Develop scalable processes that support future growth
• Assist clients with accounting system optimization and reporting enhancements
Practice Growth
• Participate in CAS proposals and onboarding of new clients
• Identify opportunities for additional advisory and accounting services
• Support the strategic growth of the firm's CAS practice
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• Five or more years of accounting experience
• Experience in public accounting, outsourced accounting, controllership, or similar leadership roles preferred
• Prior supervisory or management experience preferred
• Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting systems, and business operations
• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
• Ability to translate financial information into practical business insights
