Full Job Description
Position Summary

Provide career planning and job search counseling to students within the Jack Welch College of Business (WCBT). Assist students and alumni with fostering job search readiness skills and assist with document preparation as well as job and internship searches. Assist the Director with employer relations and internship development for the college.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide career development services for primarily undergraduate graduate and alumni population within the College of Business and Technology, as well as designated career industry communities that may overlap with other colleges;
  • Provide employer relations support including organization of on-campus visits, information sessions and interviews;
  • Deliver career programming events alongside Director to students within the college that create educational experiences and networking opportunities for students.
  • Assess needs and expectations of exploring business students and provide appropriate career counseling services;
  • Provide job search counseling and programming (individual and group) to students and select alumni population;
  • Assist with identification and development of internship and full-time employment opportunities;
  • Assist with overall departmental data collection in regards to office utilization, employer activity, programming/events etc;
  • Develop relationships and maintain consistent communication with WCBT faculty and administration;
  • Utilizing career management software to facilitate career development activities and communications.
  • Work alongside Director to assist overseeing/teach Career Development course to WCBT second year students;
  • Contribute to office-wide initiatives and events;
  • Complete special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Attributes
  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of full-time experience, preferably in higher education in the career development or admissions function
  • Prefer candidates with experience working with undergraduate or graduate business students.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new software, including Career Management Software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfort speaking at small and large events
  • Outgoing personality with strong customer-service orientation
  • Strong interest in the field of career development and working with employers

Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
