Independence Health is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our highly respected surgical team at Westmoreland Hospital. Practice Highlights
• Established cardiothoracic surgery program with strong regional reputation
• Approximately 500 cardiothoracic procedures annually - including surgical and structural procedures
• Participation in a Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) highly ranked program, emphasizing quality outcomes and data-driven care
• Robust referral network and collaborative medical staff
• 22 bed ICU and 10 bed Step down with 24/7 intensivist coverage.
• Long established cardiology program including interventional, structural and electrophysiology program with 4 interventional, 9 general cardiology and 3 electrophysiologists.
Clinical Scope
• Full spectrum of adult cardiac and thoracic surgery
• Minimally invasive cardiac and thoracic procedures
• Off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) expertise supported
• Opportunity to further develop and expand minimally invasive and advanced surgical techniques
Call Schedule
• 1:3 call rotation, providing a balanced schedule with strong team support
• Call coverage supported by experienced APPs and hospital-based teams
Support & Resources
• Dedicated cardiac surgery team, including cardiac anesthesiologist, perfusionists and specialized OR staff,
• Supported by a highly experienced and talented team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and dedicated clinical staff
• Modern operating suites and advanced imaging capabilities

Qualifications
• MD/DO with completion of Cardiothoracic Surgery fellowship
• Board certified in Cardiovascular or Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Interest or experience in minimally invasive and off-pump techniques preferred
