ResponsibilitiesUnder the general supervision and direction of the Manager of the Cardiac Cath Lab or designee. The technologist performs diversified clinical patient care, technical and related duties within cardiac cath lab or structural heart as part of an interdisciplinary care team. Assume responsibility for each assigned patient, perform patient assessments, and correlate clinical findings with exam/procedure request. Assist interventional or invasive cardiologist in performing cardiac cath or structural heart procedures. Obtain pertinent hemodynamic and angiographic information from patient-s and document all data within the hemodynamic system and EPIC. Perform patient education related to the procedure. Select technical factors/ parameters/sequences to produce quality images. Apply the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
Qualifications- Successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology or graduation from an accredited program in Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
- One years experience as a Scrub Assistant in a cardiac catheterization/EP lab/Structural Heart is preferred.
- Current RT licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.
- Post-primary certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Cardiac/Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology RT (CI) or (CV) is preferred.
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired
