Job SummaryThe Charge Pharmacist ensures that the Pharmacy Department operates within all applicable laws, regulations, and standards of practice, policies and procedures. This position ensures that workload, productivity, overtime and budget information is gathered and forwarded to the appropriate supervisor and manager for review.
80 Gilmer Street Southeast Atlanta, GA 30303RESPONSIBILITIES- Oversee workflow management, prescription processing, verification, dispensing, and shipment activities
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, regulatory standards, and Grady Health System policies
- Assist with staffing, onboarding, training, and performance coaching of pharmacy personnel
- Provide guidance and support to pharmacy technicians, ensuring high performance and excellent patient service
- Maintain inventory control and medication storage standards
- Review and report workload, productivity, and budget metrics to pharmacy leadership
- Address compliance concerns, customer feedback, and non-standard service requests professionally
- Stay current on applicable pharmacy regulations and ensure team awareness
- Collaborate with clinic leadership and providers to enhance retail pharmacy services and patient experience
- Support quality improvement initiatives and new workflow implementation
- Review, verify, and dispense oncology and specialty medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Support management of high-risk medications and specialty drug monitoring requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS- Fully licensed Pharmacist in the State of Georgia, or eligibility to obtain licensure within 90 days by reciprocity or exam
- Minimum 3 years of pharmacy practice experience in a clinical, retail, or outpatient pharmacy setting
- Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, including business and compliance functions
- Ability to communicate effectively across teams and lead pharmacy staff
- Prior experience in a charge pharmacist or supervisory role strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment
