Full Job Description
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned, as necessary. The CAAS Senior is an experienced individual contributor who actively delivers client accounting services and takes assumes ownership over day-to-day accounting operations for assigned clients, resolves complex accounting matters, assists in audit preparations, and assists in identifying and developing new service opportunities to support department growth. Minimum of 80% billable hours. • Perform client accounting and financial reporting across assigned engagements, maintaining proactive communication and serving as a resource for complex accounting matters. • Support fractional/contract CFO services, including financial analysis, cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, board reporting, and strategic financial guidance. • Support audit preparation, including documentation, PBC management, and coordination with external auditors and tax preparers. • Identify and escalate technical issues, engagement risks, and client concerns as appropriate. • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements. • Support client onboarding, including systems setup and workflow documentation. • Participate in internal meetings, firm-wide training, and continuing education. • Identify market trends, technology developments, and service opportunities; contribute to implementation efforts while maintaining assigned engagement responsibilities. • Support business development efforts, including identifying opportunities to expand services with existing clients and assisting with prospective client engagements. QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • Undergraduate degree, in accounting or related discipline preferred • Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated experience in accounting as an individual contributor. Prior experience in public accounting, outsourced accounting services, or a client-facing environment strongly preferred. Experience with audit preparation engagements a plus. REQUIRED SKILLS • Strong client relationship and communication skills, with the ability to explain accounting matters clearly. • Excellent organization and time management across multiple concurrent engagements. • Sound judgment and resourcefulness in researching, troubleshooting, resolving, and escalating issues; recognizes when to leverage internal resources. • Growth-oriented and proactive in identifying opportunities to expand services and add value. • Strong knowledge of GAAP; FASB and/or GASB experience a plus. • Proficient in QuickBooks; experience with Sage Intacct, NetSuite, or similar platforms a plus. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP • Reports to CAAS Manager WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMAND Hours: Monday- Friday, 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM. Overtime required as necessary. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk; or hear.
