Global Security (GS). Mission Technologies' Global Security (GS) group comprises live, virtual, constructive (LVC) solutions; fleet sustainment; nuclear and environmental; and Australia business.
As a trusted partner to our military customers, HII designs, develops and operates the largest LVC enterprise that prepares warfighters for cross-domain battle. With advanced technologies to enable mission readiness, HII understands that preparation requires full coordination-not readiness in piece-parts.
For more than 40 years, the U.S. Navy has entrusted HII to maintain and modernize the vast majority of its fleet. With a holistic approach to life-cycle maritime defense systems-from small watercraft to submarines, surface combatants and aircraft carriers-HII ensures a high state of readiness.
HII supports the Department of Energy's national security mission through the management and operation of its sites, as well as the safe cleanup of legacy waste across the country. HII meets clients' toughest nuclear and environmental challenges.
Who We AreHII Mission Technologies is seeking a skilled and driven C4I Operations Engineer / Systems Specialist to join our Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) operations team supporting the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) and the Navy Training Baseline (NTB).
In this role, you will be directly responsible for the operational sustainment, execution, and tactical data link integration necessary to deliver realistic, high-fidelity Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) fleet and joint training. You will interface directly with Combatant Commands (COCOMs), fleet operators, and systems engineering teams to ensure C4I and Command & Control (C2) architectures accurately generate the Common Tactical Picture (CTP) and Common Operational Picture (COP).
What You Will Do- Enterprise C4I Operations & Maintenance (O&M): Provide daily operational support, routine maintenance, and system administration across all C4I systems and tactical simulation enclaves within the distributed NCTE enterprise.
- COCOM & Fleet Exercise Support: Support Combatant Command (COCOM), Fleet Synthetic Training (FST), and Joint Task Force training exercises; analyze and troubleshoot how C4I system architectures impact the delivery and synchronization of the Common Tactical Picture (CTP) and Common Operational Picture (COP).
- Tactical Data Link & C2 Architecture Execution: Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Global Command and Control System (GCCS-M / GCCS-J) instances and Tactical Data Link (TDL) architectures (Link 16, Link 11, JREAP-A/B/C) to support multi-site distributed training networks.
- Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) Integration: Coordinate and manage the tactical planning, data routing, and end-to-end integration of Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) operations across Joint Tactical Data Links and integrated C2 architectures.
- Engineering & Operations Liaison: Serve as an operational liaison between fleet training stakeholders and the C4I Systems Engineering Division; validate that newly engineered baseline baselines, hardware builds, and software builds satisfy operational training and fleet requirements.
- Simulation Event Assessment & Feedback: Observe simulation-driven training events within the NCTE, collect operational feedback, identify system anomalies or training gaps, and coordinate post-mission technical debriefs.
- Hardware Lifecycle & Acquisitions: Ensure tactical link and communications equipment throughout the NCTE secure enclave remains current, operational, and properly accredited; assist in the technical evaluation, specification, and procurement of next-generation link systems.
- Workflow & Configuration Management: Leverage the Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence) for daily task tracking, discrepancy reporting, knowledge management, and collaborative engineering documentation.
