Santa Barbara Infrared, Inc. is currently recruiting for the position of Buyer/Planner II.
$75,000.00/yr. - $105,000.00/yr. - DOE

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Purchase the material required for production including raw materials, machined parts, electronic components, tools, and other supplies.
- Develop relationships with suppliers, negotiate prices, and coordinates logistics.
- Initiates RFQ's and onboards capable suppliers.
- Analyze part usage and sales forecasts to set up the appropriate planning policies in the company's MRP system.
- Assists the Purchasing team with technical planning questions.
- Manages supply chain projects with limited supervision.
- Represent the Materials team in ECO meetings.
- Monitors and evaluates supplier performance, including supplier development and process/cost improvement.
- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
- Participates in the Materials group's continuous improvement projects.
- Must be able to work with limited or no supervision.
- Must be able to work full time onsite.
QUALIFICATIONS - Must have advanced MRP knowledge
- APICS CPIM certification is preferred.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex supply chains.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Analytical skills for short term/long-term planning and follow-up.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
- Experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., Defense, Aerospace, medical device, etc.) preferred
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in Supply Chain/Production and Operations Management or equivalent experience (5+ year Buyer/Planner experience)
