Position Overview: As a Business Proposal Specialist III, you will serve as the owner of Pike Engineering's RFx process (Examples include RFP = Request for Proposal, RFQ = Request for Quote or RFI = Request for Information). You will lead continuous improvement efforts, maintain best-in class tools and templates, and coordinate cross-functional teams to develop and submit high-quality proposals. You will be a central liaison between customers and internal stakeholders, managing proposal resources, executive reviews, customer engagement, and RFx knowledge archives to support business growth and operational excellence. You will perform work under minimal supervision, handle complex issues and problems, and refer only the most complex issues to higher level staff. You will provide leadership, coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group and may be a team leader. Comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter is required.
This position is located on-site in Fort Mill, SC reporting to Pike Engineering leadership.
Essential Functions:
• Strong industry knowledge
• Identify innovative ways for improving efficiency of proposal process
• Update corporate database, Procore, and stakeholders on Engineering-wide activities as necessary
• Be the initiative owner of the Pike Engineering RFP Process. Responsible for documenting processes, creating templates, and continuous improvement opportunities. Develop and maintain "Best-in-Class" process materials and templates
• Work with Pike Engineering customers to verify portal access, ensure inclusion in RFx events, and ask questions during RFx response preparations
• Work with internal stakeholders such as operations, finance, Engineering Support, and Corporate to organize, schedule meetings, write, review, and submit responses to RFx events. Provide RFx results and reviews submissions for lessons learned to improve future efforts
• Assist internal stakeholders with executive review and approval preparations and materials
• Manage Pike Engineering RFx archives and library, develop visuals and material for use in future RFx preparations, provide materials for events such as conferences, introductory meetings, sales events, etc.
Minimum Requirements:
• Regular attendance is required
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or approved equivalent
• 4+ years of experience in the engineering, business or EPC areas of business preparing proposals for submission to energy clients
• Foundational utility industry engineering and/or operations knowledge
• Collaborate as part of a team-based project environment
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new tools and automation techniques
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings clearly to non technical stakeholders
• Lead complex analytical projects and mentor junior team members
• Valid driver's license and vehicle suitable for business use (mileage reimbursement may apply)
Other Abilities:
• Familiarity with Procore and utility RFP portals including but not limited to Jaegger, GEP, Ariba, and Coupahost
