AllClear Aerospace & Defense is seeking a Business Intelligence & Applications Architect to lead the design and modernization of the company's business intelligence, data, business applications, integrations, automation, and emerging AI capabilities.
This role combines strategic architecture with hands-on technical leadership. Working closely with business leaders, the IT Operations Lead, application owners, vendors, and implementation partners, this person will define target-state designs, translate them into practical roadmaps, validate solutions through prototypes and technical reviews, and remain engaged through implementation and operational transition.
The primary focus is enabling trusted business information, connected applications, automated processes, and secure AI-enabled capabilities. The role is centered on how data, applications, integrations, automation, and agentic solutions work together to provide enterprise intelligence across ERP and other core enterprise platforms. The right candidate brings strong architecture and design experience, practical hands-on capability, and a demonstrated ability to mentor technical staff and lead cross-functional delivery teams.
What You Will Do:
• Define the target-state architecture. Establish a coherent future state for business intelligence, data, applications, integrations, automation, AI-enabled solutions, and the Azure services that support them.
• Lead business intelligence and data design. Architect data ingestion, transformation, storage, semantic models, dashboards, reporting, and self-service analytics. Establish trusted definitions, data quality expectations, ownership, lineage, and access controls.
• Architect business applications. Define solution designs for new and existing applications, including data, interfaces, workflows, identity, security, extensibility, deployment, monitoring, and operational support.
• Establish integration patterns. Define standards for APIs, messaging, event-driven integrations, middleware, system synchronization, managed file exchange, and cross-application workflows. Reduce reliance on fragile point-to-point connections.
• Design and prioritize automation. Identify opportunities to automate approvals, document processing, exception handling, data movement, repetitive work, and cross-system business processes using maintainable low-code and pro-code approaches.
• Guide agentic AI adoption. Design secure assistants and agents that use governed enterprise information, invoke approved tools, and interact with business applications under appropriate identity, authorization, human approval, evaluation, monitoring, and audit controls.
• Provide Azure architecture expertise. Guide Azure and Azure Government solutions across data, integration, applications, automation, and AI, including environment design, identity, networking, private connectivity, security, monitoring, deployment, and cost management.
• Remain hands-on. Develop prototypes, reference implementations, and company applications, review code and configurations, validate technical approaches, troubleshoot complex cross-system issues, and contribute directly when critical delivery work requires senior expertise or needs otherwise demand.
• Mentor and develop the team. Coach developers, analysts, administrators, and engineers in solution design, architecture patterns, development practices, documentation, testing, troubleshooting, and operational readiness.
• Lead technical delivery. Set direction and coordinate technical work across internal staff, vendors, consultants, and implementation partners. Resolve design issues, clarify responsibilities, and hold teams accountable for quality, security, maintainability, and supportability.
• Establish architecture governance. Create reference architectures, reusable patterns, architecture decision records, development standards, technical review practices, and vendor evaluation criteria.
• Build and maintain the modernization roadmap. Translate architectural direction into a sequenced, plan that improves insight, interoperability, automation, and team capability without disrupting business operations.
• Partner with IT Operations. Ensure solutions are grounded in operational reality and have clear monitoring, support, recovery, ownership, documentation, and transition requirements.
Requirements
We are looking for a technically credible leader who can move comfortably between business needs, architecture, solution design, implementation, and team leadership. The successful candidate will be able to define a future state, demonstrate key concepts hands-on, guide delivery teams, mentor technical staff, and communicate clearly with both business and technology leaders.
