Job Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY:

To represent Karmax in front of customers in the pursuit of securing business opportunities and executing actions based on annual business plan. Working with internal departments, Cosma cross functional teams, integrators, tool shops and suppliers to develop cost effective solutions in response to customer RFQ’s and engineering changes. This position is responsible for directing the activities of multiple workgroups in a just in time, lean manufacturing environment in accordance with the principles of the Employee Charter and the policies and procedures set out in the Karmax Heavy Stamping Employee Handbook. The Department Manager oversees resources to ensure safety, quality and production levels are maintained in order to meet Customer requirements.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

· Related Certification College Diploma or University Degree in Mechanical Engineering and, or Business and/or Combination of Education and Work Experience

· 5 years Karmax Heavy Stamping, Cosma, Magna and/or Automotive/Manufacturing related Experience

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

· Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills

· Excellent mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills

· Excellent leadership, coaching, mentoring, interpersonal, problem solving, motivational and negotiating skills.

· Knowledge of Magna production tools and policies including safety policies

· Good understanding of costing and business proposal development.

· Experience dealing with automotive OEM’s and capable of presenting technical & commercial proposals.

· Good knowledge of manufacturing processes used in the production of welded assemblies,

· Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

· Experienced in costing and margin growth.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area and perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with the safety policies of Karmax.

2. Follow Magna’s Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies.

3. Provides instruction, guidance and leadership to Area Leaders and Supervisors by assisting in solving day to day problems, utilizing the Magna Employee Charter while implementing the policies and procedures of the company.

4. Plans and directs the utilization, maintenance and use of all machinery, equipment and manpower to achieve the most effective results.

5. Be responsible and accountable for meeting Karmax and departmental objectives.

6. Utilize interactive management principles when implementing progressive discipline procedures in dealing with unsatisfactory employees.

7. Responsible to address and solve all customer related problems and concerns, both internal and external.

8. Ensures safety standards of equipment and work area are maintained, and performs all duties in a safe manner in accordance with the safety policies of Karmax.

9. Ensures all duties are performed in an environmentally responsible manner in accordance with the Karmax Environmental Policy Statement—3 P’s. Prevent Pollution, Preserve Natural Resources & Protect our Environment

10. Lead commercial team in supporting Karmax and Cosma business requirements.

11. Direct and lead the daily activities of the commercial team.

12. Able to understand a customer’s request for a new business opportunity or engineering changes, lead commercial team and CFT to develop a solution in response that meets customer’s technical and financial target, as well as Cosma’s financial requirements.

13. Possesses confidence in challenging customer requirements which are against automotive manufacturing best practices and introduces risk into Karmax operations.

14. Generate creative solutions with engineering and commercial teams to grow company margin with each opportunity.

15. Work with purchasing department to develop scope of work for supplier quotes.

16. Lead commercial and engineering teams to develop detailed quote exceptions and assumptions with each customer response.

17. Have passion keeping track of customer commercial issues and engage with Cosma sales in adequate resolution.

18. Review Monthly customer PO updates and communicate with Finance.

19. Regular meetings with Purchasing and Finance departments on supplier cost increases, development of strategy to off-set with customer and execution of strategy.

20. Responsible for preparation and presentation of quotes for management review.

21. Ensure all quotes are prepared in a timely and complete manner which meets all company and customer expectations

22. Lead financial assessment of production programs and develop solutions with CFT if gaps exist to quoted program standard.

23. Support Cosma monthly and annual business planning activities and reviews.

24. Drive business plan activities and following through with the necessary actions to meet BP Key Performance Indicators

25. Ensure the commercial team develops and maintains cost roadmaps for each project detailing a complete quoting history for program life

26. TS16949 awareness and adherence,

27. ISO14001 awareness and adherence,

28. Conducts department meetings to discuss safety, production and quality related goals.

29. Conducts monthly safety talks.

30. Conducts performance reviews at specified timeframes (annually, probationary, trial period).

31. Is involved in incident investigations in his/her area.

32. Corrects unsafe conditions in a timely manner upon being notified.

33. Ensures new employees are trained and reviews training requirements on a quarterly basis.

34. Performs regular workplace inspections (5S).

35. Perform other duties as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

· Must be able to work in various locations within and outside the Manufacturing Plant

· Must be able to work outside of normal office hours to meet needs of the customer

· Exposed periodically to elements such as temperature and noise

· Office environment within a manufacturing operation

Base Salary Range: $130,000 to $160,000
