About the Role

The Business Development Advisor – Content & Pitch Operations is an integral part of Latham’s Business Development (BD) team. This role will be responsible for leading major content development initiatives and supporting the systems, processes, and operations that enable successful business development activities across the firm, while drafting and editing content from diverse inputs (stakeholder interviews, attorney input, prior firm materials, research), translating complex legal and business concepts into audience-appropriate materials, and expanding the library of reusable resources. This role will be located in our Global Services Office in Downtown Los Angeles. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Managing complex content-development and refresh projects from planning through delivery, coordinating stakeholders, managing timelines, balancing multiple priorities, and driving completion without formal authority
  • Collaborating closely with partners, lawyers, BD professionals, and other senior stakeholders to gather input, resolve issues, secure approvals, and proactively communicate status, risks, and opportunities
  • Serving as a key administrator and subject matter resource for Foundation, managing and enhancing its content, templates, taxonomies, configurations, and packet-related data to support effective pitch enablement and data integrity
  • Leading and supporting initiatives to improve Foundation usability, content structures, workflows, reporting, and cross-functional adoption, including migrations, audits, governance, and collaboration with MarTech leadership
  • Managing intake and prioritization of content requests, maintaining standards for content quality and governance, and driving process improvements that enhance team effectiveness and cross-functional collaboration
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains

  • Exhibit outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills, with strong executive presence and the ability to engage effectively with partners, senior stakeholders, staff, technical teams, and remote colleagues across regions and cultures 
  • Possess strong project management and organizational skills, with proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent initiatives and stakeholder groups while maintaining attention to detail, quality, and a strong customer-service focus 

And have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • A minimum of six (6) years of relevant and progressively responsible business development and marketing experience in a legal or professional services environment
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of cumulative experience
