Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Java Developer to join a growing pricing technology team supporting a modernized pricing platform deployed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role focuses on delivering application enhancements, managing development backlogs, reducing technical debt, and supporting production delivery as the organization transitions away from a legacy JDE environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate end-to-end application ownership, from requirements and development through production deployment, with strong Java, Spring Boot, GCP, and communication skills. Experience owning applications from development through production, particularly in product-based companies, is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and deploy new features and enhancements for a cloud-based pricing application.
• Execute development backlog items and deliver production-ready code.
• Identify and remediate technical debt while improving application performance and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including implementing code fixes and deploying solutions to production.
• Develop and support Java-based microservices running on GCP.
• Build and maintain integrations with internal and external systems through REST APIs.
• Collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, business analysts, and external implementation partners to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues.
• Participate in higher-tier production support activities, including root cause analysis and application updates.
• Contribute to cloud modernization initiatives and application enhancements.
• Take ownership of technical work from requirements through production deployment.
• Clearly communicate technical solutions, enterprise procedures, and application changes to relevant stakeholders.
• Work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams to address evolving business priorities.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience.
• Strong experience developing applications using Spring Boot.
• Demonstrated experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience building and supporting microservices architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience consuming and building RESTful APIs.
• Experience deploying and supporting applications in production environments.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• End-to-end application ownership experience, ideally in product-based companies.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate enterprise procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Vertex AI or other GCP-native AI/ML services.
• Experience working with GCP APIs and cloud-native integrations.
• Salesforce integration experience.
• Databricks experience.
• Experience with pricing, quote-to-cash, revenue management, or pricing platforms.
• Experience supporting cloud modernization or migration initiatives.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
