Location: San Antonio, TX (100% onsite)
Pay: $80,000 - $90,000 per year

A well-established physician group in San Antonio to hire a Business Analyst. You'll be the go-to technical and functional resource for the health plan applications that support Claims, Utilization Management (including Referrals), Credentialing, Eligibility, and Provider Management.
This is a hands-on application support role. You'll spend your days troubleshooting issues, working tickets, and keeping systems running, with opportunities to take part in enhancements and larger projects. If you enjoy digging into why a system isn't behaving the way the business expects, this role is for you.
What You'll Do - Provide technical and functional support for health plan and payer applications, including claims platforms such as EZ-CAP
- Investigate and resolve system errors, processing discrepancies, and user-reported issues
- Manage service desk tickets from intake to resolution, with clear documentation and follow-up
- Perform assigned configuration changes and routine application maintenance
- Plan and execute testing for software updates, hotfixes, and enhancements, and communicate results
- Partner with operations teams to gather business requirements and recommend improvements
- Help troubleshoot EDI transactions, interfaces, and data exchange issues
- Write and maintain documentation, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and user training materials
- Contribute to projects and process improvement initiatives
What You'll Bring - 3+ years of experience in application support, business systems analysis, or application configuration
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to research and solve problems independently
- Solid understanding of business processes and how applications support them. This is a business application analysis role, not traditional IT or help desk support
- Experience working in a ticketing system, testing system changes, and documenting processes
- Ability to learn complex applications through hands-on use, research, and collaboration
- Strong communication skills with both technical and nontechnical teams
- Dependable, organized, and able to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or a related field (or 4 additional years of comparable experience in lieu of a degree)
Preferred - Healthcare payer, managed care, medical group, or TPA experience
- Experience with claims or managed care platforms such as EZ-CAP, Facets, or QNXT
- Familiarity with EDI transactions (837/835/834)
Don't have healthcare experience? We want to hear from strong application analysts from other industries who have supported complex business applications.
Why This Role - Hands-on work with complex, mission-critical systems
- A team that values learning, ownership, and collaboration
- Stable, established organization in San Antonio
