Full Job Description
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall coordination of infrastructure installations (structures, civil works, HVAC systems, electrical systems, telecommunications, security, and equipment maintenance) in all MDA Space buildings located in the Montreal area. He or she ensures compliance with technical, budgetary, regulatory, and operational requirements, from the design phase through commissioning.
**Project Management (planning, oversight, and monitoring)**
- Draft project justification documents (business cases, risk analyses, feasibility studies).
- Develop specifications and prepare cost estimates for requests for proposals.
- Develop and maintain detailed schedules: study, design, approval, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Manage changes: impact analysis, budget validation, and updating of project documents.
**Interdisciplinary Coordination**
- Coordinate the various disciplines (structural, civil engineering, HVAC, electrical, telecommunications, security, IT).
- Organize and facilitate project review meetings (kick-off, weekly progress meetings, design and construction reviews).
- Liaise with operations to schedule work windows, minimize disruptions, and ensure service continuity.
- Management of RFP Processes and Suppliers
- Publish RFPs, receive bids, conduct technical and financial evaluations, and lead negotiations with contractors or professionals.
- Manage contracts: monitor terms, warranties, and deadlines.
**Compliance Monitoring and Control**
- Verify that work complies with plans, standards (CSA, NFPA, RE 2020, NASA/ESA requirements), and HSEQ criteria.
- Conduct on-site inspections, draft non-compliance reports, and follow up on corrective actions.
- Cost control: budget monitoring, preparation of monthly reports, variance analysis, and recommendations for adjustments.
**Project Administration and Documentation**
- Maintain the document registry (plans, permits, progress reports, meeting minutes, correspondence).
- Monitor municipal permits and environmental authorizations.
- Prepare final deliverables (as-built documentation, operating manuals, staff training).
- Manage deficiencies
**Continuous Improvement**
- Propose process improvements (BIM methodologies, monitoring tools, best practices).
- Participate in technology monitoring and sustainability initiatives (eco-friendly materials, energy efficiency).
**PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE**
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in industrial project management;
- Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Knowledge of drawing and presentation software (e.g., AutoCAD)
Bilingualism in French and English is essential.
**EDUCATION**
- College diploma in Building Technology (or equivalent) or a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, construction engineering, or industrial engineering.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in industrial or commercial development management, including the coordination of multidisciplinary teams.
- Bilingualism in French and English is required spoken and written. (Prepares reports for Ontario head office and interacts with staff.)
- Desired certifications: PMP, CAPM, LEED Green Associate, or any certification demonstrating proficiency in BIM
- Holding the title of professional engineer or having completed recognized continuing education in the building field is an additional asset.

**Special Considerations:**
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
