Job Summary

Budget Manager II (0992) - Budget Office

Job Class: 0992, Manager II | Salary: $132,527 - $180,933/annually | Appointment: Permanent Exempt | Calendar: Full Time / Full Year | Vacancies: 3

The SFUSD Budget Office is hiring Budget Managers (Manager II) to help lead resource planning and monitoring of the district's over $1.3 billion budget (district, county, and capital funds). Reporting to the Budget Office Executive Director, this position oversees the annual budget development cycle, including budget template creation, training of Budget Analysts and end users, and data analysis and reconciliation, and manages the design, monitoring, and fiscal management of restricted funding streams and special projects.

Assignments may include supervising Budget Analysts, leading schools and departments through the annual budget development process and school staffing model, complex analyses such as labor costing and forecasting (advanced Excel required), oversight of major budgets and Local Funds (Special Education, PEEF, QTEA, FWEA), coordination with key City offices, and support for SFUSD citizens' advisory committees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from an accredited college or university
- Three years of related professional-level experience
Substitution: Education may be substituted with additional professional-level experience on a year-for-year basis.

The strongest candidates will bring increasingly responsible finance, data analysis, or project management experience (K-12 district, City department, or government agency preferred), knowledge of California school district financing, advanced Excel and financial analysis skills, and success leading effective teams.
