About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • A bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering; master's degree preferred
  • 6 to 10 years of bridge design experience
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) licensure, required
  • Bridge inspection experience preferred; NHI Certification as a Team Leader preferred; SPRAT certification preferred
  • Preferred experience with routine and major bridges, complex structures, and load rating
  • Experience with Alternate Delivery Projects preferred
  • Proficiency with MicroStation and relevant bridge design software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and lead a team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously


About the Role

As a Bridge Engineer, you will:

  • Design and manage bridge projects for public clients at local, county, or state levels
  • Facilitate team collaboration and coordination, including client coordination and internal staff team building
  • Assist in developing scopes of work, project hours, and schedules; ensure plan compliance during design development
  • Maintain relationships internally and externally with responsibility for independently managing technical bridge design matters
  • Use industry-accepted engineering and bridge design software to perform calculations and provide technical guidance to junior engineers
  • Manage bridge inspections for routine and complex structures, prepare reports, and coordinate with team members
  • Review and verify the accuracy of completed work and document quality control processes per firm and client standards
  • Travel as necessary to collect field data, conduct reviews, monitor construction progress, conduct client meetings, and participate in public hearings or presentations
