Description
Clinical responsibilities include the full spectrum of breast imaging, including screening and diagnostic mammography, tomosynthesis, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and image-guided breast procedures. Appointees will work closely with surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, technologists, nurses, and referring clinicians in multidisciplinary breast care and will contribute to timely, high-quality patient evaluation and communication. The broader UChicago environment includes an $815 million state-of-the-art cancer center opening in 2027. This transformational project includes a comprehensive, fully integrated breast center that will significantly expand imaging volumes, services, and technology.
Faculty responsibilities also include teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as participation in conferences, case review, and other educational activities. Appointees will be expected to contribute to the academic mission of the Department through scholarly activity, which may include clinical research, educational work, publications, abstracts, presentations, or quality improvement projects.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois and the State of Indiana, 3) be American Board certified or Board eligible in Radiology, and 4) completed fellowship training in Breast Imaging or equivalent.
