The TeamBlack & Veatch Process Engineers develop technical solutions that are critical to winning work and drive design deliverables for critical infrastructure projects with community benefits. Our Team of over 200 process engineers supports water, wastewater, industrial, next generation agriculture, LNG, hydrogen, fertilizer, and carbon capture businesses among others.
We have over 30 professionals in our wastewater process engineering team working on projects across the US and on overseas. Our team is engaged in all phases of project development including positioning for and winning work, master-planning, facility planning, preliminary design, detailed design, startup, commissioning and process optimization for operational facilities.
The OpportunityAs
Western Regional Biosolids & Residuals Practice Leader in our Process Engineering Team, you will have the opportunity to:
- Act as a "seller-doer," working with an established team of Client Directors in our water utilities sector and leveraging the strength of our existing team of Biosolids Process Engineers to drive growth in our biosolids practice.
- Lead the delivery of high quality study and design work to act as a platform for perpetual growth in the future.
- Primarily focus efforts in California, the Southwest and Pacific Northwest Markets. You may also engage as needed on national and international work.

Key ResponsibilitiesStaying current on industry trends and client needs to inform growth strategies
• Supporting the development and implementation of strategy and growth initiatives
• Participating in thought leadership activities to build the BV brand as industry leaders in the implementation of tailored treatment solutions
• Playing a vital role in business development activities, including pursuit strategy, prepositioning activities, proposal development, and project interviews
• Serving as technical advisor to design teams and clients throughout the project lifecycle of planning, design, construction, startup and commissioning, and operations
• Driving joint accountability for project execution and safety performance
• Mentoring and supervising team members to build best-in-class capabilities
• Building technical bench strength through staff development and recruiting
• Recruiting and developing capabilities to meet business and client needs
• Serving as technology leader, recognized as a company and industry expert in residuals and biosolds.
• Developing innovative solutions critical to company success.
Management ResponsibilitiesSupervises work of others. Responsible for hiring, discipline, and pay administration of their subordinates.
Preferred Qualifications• MS or PhD in Environmental Engineering or related disciplines relevant to wastewater treatment.
• 5 or more years acting in a lead role related to biosolids projects and pursuits.
• Experience with client development.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country, or the country in which the professional is practicing; or equivalent experience in engineering work.
- Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
- Active Engineering Registration or Licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries, and supports where necessary.
Certifications- Active Engineering Registration or Licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries, and supports where necessary. (Licensed Professional Engineer-PE)
Work Environment/Physical Demands- Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.

In accordance with local law, the following Annual compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $181,687.00 - $303,424.00
