Wage Range: $32.61 - $52.17 per hour

Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.

Job Summary:

Responsible for the repair, calibration, and maintenance of medical equipment, instrumentation and support systems used in healthcare delivery. Required to install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and verify the performance of complex biomedical equipment with minimal supervision. Completes inventory assessment/audits and preventive maintenance of biomedical equipment. Provides remedial corrective maintenance and maintains documentation of all service events, tests, and maintenance performed on clinical equipment.

Primary Duties:
  • Repairs, installs, maintains, calibrates, and inspects a variety of complex medical equipment, instrumentation, and systems.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices, and systems.
  • Diagnoses and corrects system and equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintains documentation on new equipment, inspections, and equipment repairs and failures.
  • Schedules and monitors third-party repair as necessary.
  • Provides technical assistance and instruction on equipment operation and maintenance to EvergreenHealth staff as needed.
  • Provides basic skill training and mentorship to Level I technicians.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

License, Certification, Education or Experience:

REQUIRED for the position:
  • Associate's degree in Electrical, Biomedical, or Clinical equipment technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the biomedical engineering service industry
  • Experience with Factory or Third-party training on complex medical devices
  • Experience with or ability to help train or be a technical subject matter expert for BMET I's on complex medical systems
  • Knowledge of and ability to use various hand tools and test equipment.
  • Ability to understand and use equipment technical manuals.
  • Ability to work on complex medical equipment including life support devices

DESIRED for the position:
  • Certification by AAMI as a Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician
