Our Opportunity

We are currently seeking aBattery Engineer/Scientistforour Materials Science and Electrochemistry practice inMenlo Park, California. In this role, you will work as part of a team to contribute to ourbattery and materials science-relatedconsulting services at Exponent. The ideal candidate willhave hands-on experience with battery-related researchandpossessa well-developed understanding of secondary and/orprimary battery chemistries andmaterial and battery characterizationtechniques. Knowledge/experience withcell design, cell assembly, andfailure analysisis a plus. Responsibilities will include applying this experience to solve challenging, real world battery electrochemistry and materials problems for our clients.This individual will work with a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers and will play a key role in designing and running experiments, as well as interpreting and presenting data.The successful applicant will display excellent written and verbal communications skills and contributeinpreparing reports and presenting results to clients.

You will have the following skills and qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering,Physics, MechanicalEngineering,Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field

  • Well-developed understanding ofcell design, cell assembly, andfailure analysisare desirable

Compensation

Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth. Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent. At the Associate and Senior Associate level, total compensation includes base salary, bi-weekly bonuses for high-intensity efforts, annual bonus and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.

The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.
