Job Description* This is a Remote Hybrid position and does require 40% of travel.
In this role, you will be responsible for engineering design, planning, and managing all phases of projects (From Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Startup & Commissioning to Closeout) to ensure customer satisfaction stays at the highest levels. It will be your job to resolve issues related to scope of work on small and medium size projects. You will need to be accountable to field teams for quality, timeliness, and efficiency of designs. In addition, provide detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, field installation team, and subcontractors.
An Engineering Specialist will leverage their extensive knowledge and experience of building systems and HVAC equipment (including boilers, chillers and refrigeration systems, constant volume and variable volume air handling systems), electrical (including generators, UPS, switch gear and controls), plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Position requires excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Must be able to use sound judgement and discretion and must demonstrate the highest levels of professionalism and initiative to drive the organizational process. Must be able to initiate and complete projects and reports independently, accurately, and often under deadline pressure. Must have the ability to process, prioritize, assign and follow-up on requests.
Responsibilities:- Basicknowledge of HVAC systems, building control systems, lighting, buildingenvelope, and domestic water systems, and developing and conductingfunctional test procedures. Knowledge of common HVAC and electricalbuilding codes (e.g. California Title 24, ASHRAE Guideline 36, etc.).
- Expertisein a range of building types, but preference for experience with pharmaceuticaland industrial facilities.
- Attendinternal kickoff meetings to gain knowledge of the sales estimate andproject scope. Analyze plans, specifications, and contract details todetermine system requirements. Select products and determine appropriateplacement to meet specifications.
- PrepareBill of Materials and Sequences of Operations documents to meet the intentof the project plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- PrepareEquipment Submittals, Shop Drawings, and Schedules.
- Verify floor plan drawings showing device locations, device wiring details, riserdiagrams and panel mounting elevations. Ensure design consistency anddocument any scope gaps.
- Developefficient solutions for unexpected field conditions. Need to be able todetail the components necessary to implement the proposed solution.
- Troubleshootand diagnose issues, including identifying any issues with cabling,hardware, networking, installation, or communication problems.
- Provideon-site assistance with or perform programming, start-up, checkout,commissioning, and validation processes. Participate in job site finalwalk-through, complete all job closeout documentation, and providecustomer training.
- Familiaritywith data logging equipment and trending capability of Siemens automationproducts and ability to use other building automation systems trendingfunctions.
- Actas technical resource to customers and field employees.
- Activelyparticipates in and leads client meetings and presentations
- Develop and maintain a project schedule and coordinate needs with the project team. Identify time-sensitive installation needs and relay that to subcontractors.
- Manage the requisition of supplies and materials to complete projects.
- Organize and maintain job documentationto track resources and project progress.
Requirements- High school diploma or state-recognized GED required; Associate degree preferred
- Experience in installing and/or servicing electronic control and HVAC equipment; 3+ years preferred
- Knowledge of HVAC, mechanical systems, business operations
- Understanding of Siemens Desigo, Tridium Niagra, or Johnson Controls Metasys
- Able toread/interpret electrical circuit diagrams
- Proficientin Microsoft Office, BlueBeam
- Good verbaland written communication skills in English
- Qualifiedapplicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States
- Must be 21years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations
- Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $80k - $120k per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, etc..
