Full Job Description

Kobre & Kim is looking for a bankruptcy litigation lawyer to join one of our U.S. offices. You will be working on high-stakes restructuring/bankruptcy and other debtor-creditor disputes, often with a cross-border element. The ideal candidate will have substantial litigation skills (e.g., extensive brief writing, discovery, and deposition experience) with a focus on disputes involving distressed companies.

You will join our highly regarded global team to work on multinational bankruptcy and restructuring matters representing debtors, creditors, committees, foreign insolvency representatives, and other stakeholders in insolvency-related disputes and investigations, often as special litigation counsel in Chapter 11 and Chapter 15 proceedings.

The ideal candidate should have an interest in cross-border work and using insolvency and restructuring tools to craft unique strategies for the firm’s international asset recovery and judgment enforcement engagements. The position would not be limited to bankruptcy-related work, as it will involve creditor-debtor disputes and creditor remedies both inside and outside of bankruptcy court.

Requirements

  • Graduated law school between 2023 - 2020
  • Juris Doctorate Degree
  • Clerkships are always beneficial
  • Strong litigation and bankruptcy/restructuring experience
  • Robust writing, drafting and editing skills

At the time of posting, the salary range for this role is US $260,000 – US $390,000. This range is based on a full-time work schedule. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus. The successful candidate’s actual salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications, training, skills, and market data.
