Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
- Provide leadership and coaching to direct reports.
- Develops and maintains a productive working relationship with Banking Officers, assisting in determining customer needs and appropriate products and/or services.
- Assists Banking Officers in obtaining information for loan applications and other banking products, explain the process and answer questions.
- Analyzes applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans.
- Obtains and compiles copies of loan applicants' credit histories, corporate financial statements, and other financial information.
- Works closely with Banking Officer to guide loan applications through the underwriting process and decision.
- Stays abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products to better meet customers' needs.
- Stays abreast of regulatory compliance requirements, loan policy and operating guidelines.
- Reviews and updates credit and loan files.
- Submits applications to Central Retail or Credit Officers for underwriting and analysis, as applicable.
- Submits necessary documents to Central Processing Department and Loan Processor for generation of loan documents.
- Works with Banking Officers to clears any outstanding exceptions timely.
- Closing and funding loans within authority.
- Assists Banking Officers to manage credit and collection of payments up to 30 days delinquent for the life of the loan.
- Assist Banking Officers and Credit Manager to monitor loan documents, including loan agreements to ensure borrowers is in compliance with terms throughout life of loan.
- Services customers' complaints, questions and requests, as needed, and takes appropriate action to resolve.
- Assist in maintaining loan pipeline.
- Assist in preparing letters of intent and loan proposals.
- Assist in the annual collection of financial information from commercial loan customers.
- Review maturity reports to ensure that loan renewals are processed in a timely manner.
- Review loan repricing reports to assist Banking Officers to identify possible loan modifications ore refinances.
- Assist in opening deposit accounts for loan customers.
- Work with Banking Officers to identify cross-selling opportunities within the portfolio.
- Provide support and direct contact with customers of Banking Officers when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with bank guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable state and federal laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing and making hiring recommendations; employee coaching, training and appraising performance; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding performance or recommending disciplinary action as appropriate; and, addressing complaints and resolving problems that may arise. This position provides directional oversight to the following positions:
- Portfolio Manager I and Portfolio Manager II

- Ability to work with a team and members of other departments of known concepts.
- Ability to follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve moderately complex problems and collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Required Education and/or Experience- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Sales, Communications, or a degree which would have taught the skills relevant to the position. Relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
- Ten (10) years of experience in the financial services industry or an occupation that required superior customer service skills, client interaction that may include business and/or retail loan underwriting, managing and loan portfolio monitoring. Banking, management, or retail sales experience is preferred but not required.
- Extensive knowledge of bank operations, procedures and regulations.
Other Requirements- May be required to attend activities outside the bank to stay abreast of new developments, best practices, civic activities, and statutory and regulatory changes.
