Full Job Description
Qrypt is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to build the services behind our quantum security products. You will write and ship backend software - primarily in Rust - that moves quantum entropy and keys, powers our entropy-as-a-service platform, and makes our appliances work reliably at scale. You will use AI-assisted development tooling as a core part of how you work, while owning the correctness and quality of everything you ship. What you'll do • Design, build, and test backend services and APIs, primarily in Rust, with some C++ and Python. • Work on the software that delivers quantum entropy and keys reliably and securely. • Write well-tested, maintainable code and participate in design and code review. • Use AI-assisted and agentic development tooling to accelerate your work while owning the correctness and quality of everything you ship. • Help shape how the team adopts AI-assisted development (instruction conventions, review standards) as the tooling matures. • Develop an understanding of the domain (quantum random number generation, cryptography, network security) to build and validate our products. • Collaborate with hardware, product, and other engineers to ship end-to-end. What you'll need • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, and/or relevant work experience. • 3+ years building and shipping backend software. • Proficiency in Rust, or strong systems-programming experience (C, C++, Go) with a demonstrated ability and eagerness to work primarily in Rust. • Working familiarity with C++ and Python. • Solid grasp of backend fundamentals: APIs, services, concurrency, testing, and Linux. • Fluency with AI and agent-assisted development, and the judgment to apply it where it adds real leverage - reviewing, correcting, and taking full ownership of AI-generated work. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Must be authorized to work in the United States. Qrypt does not provide visa sponsorship for this role. Nice to have • Experience with cryptography, security, or networking systems. • Experience with high-reliability or performance-sensitive services. • Familiarity with Linux systems programming and packaging/deployment. Benefits & Perks • Competitive Pay & Equity participation • Comprehensive health, dental and vision coverage • 401(k) match • In-office lunch and snacks • The opportunity to be part of a company solving one of the most critical technology challenges of our time!
