Join our team here at Mission Technologies and the Elevator Support Unit (ESU) group as a Manager Production Planning Scheduler! The selected candidate will support ESU, managing and overseeing numerous HM&E (Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical) projects and provide expert solutions for shipboard alterations and installations in the accomplishment of fleet modernization. The selected candidate may be required to travel to shipyards and military bases located around the country and abroad when not assigned to a local project. Travel and lodging expenses are covered by the company and per dim will be provided based on location when on travel. This is a full-time position, located in Chesapeake, VA.
What You Will Do- Display high levels of quality, integrity, safety, respect, engagement, and performance consistent with company values.
- Engage with planning and program performance, addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a work package, or related group of work packages on a large system development-type contract or full responsibility for all aspects of program performance on a large delivery order or mid-size technical services-type contract.
- Oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between project management and project team, and line management. Manage, oversee, schedule, and assign tasks efficiently to multiple jobs to meet production standards and schedules.
- Develop and maintain engaging relationships with customer representatives and subcontractors for continued business growth.
- Assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Develop and use technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports.
- Take responsibility for the direct supervision and management of staff and provide objective-oriented directions to subordinates utilizing management guidelines and general policies.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time.
- Apply comprehensive understanding of production and processes toward completion of assignments.
- Interface with customers, manage subcontractors, provide work directions and lead others. May manage one or more multiple jobs.
- Perform a variety of complicated and non-routine tasks including duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.
- Schedule, report and brief customers and senior management.
What You Must Have- 4 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 2 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years relevant progressive experience.
- Must have shipboard maintenance and repair experience.
- Must be able to read and interpret equipment and systems, ship drawings and ship technical documents and manuals.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing Advance Weapons Elevators and electrical cabinets associated Equipment.
- Experience with all AWE actuators and associated Equipment.
- Experience in coordinating and supervising personnel effort in accomplishing shipboard repairs specifically on the following systems: Aircraft Elevator, Advanced Weapons Elevator, Stores Elevator Mechanical & Electrical.
- Experience being closely involved with practical aircraft carriers, maintenance availability, procedures, work integration administration and maintenance scheduling.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills as well as experience communicating with senior level Ship's Force and government personnel.
- Must be able to assess and proactively address potential production and schedule issues.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance.
- Must possess in-depth knowledge of engineering drawings/data reading practices (MIL-STD-1000), being capable to perform logistic technical evaluation of equipment and material presented in these drawings.
- Must be computer literate with the ability to be comfortable and proficient at a computer terminal manipulating data.
- Must have Aircraft Elevator/Deck Edge Doors/Hangar Bay Division Doors, and Advanced Weapons Elevator Experience.
- Knowledge of how to capture OQE/TWD/CTWD's/WAF's.
- Must have knowledge of procedures and practices regarding operation of Alteration Installation Teams/Customer Contracted Team (AIT/CCT).
Bonus Points For- Candidate knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Access is a plus.
- A current, active DoD security clearance.
- Experience developing documentation for shipboard/industrial production projects utilizing technical work packages, labor/manpower (hours and industrial trades), material estimates, subcontractors & outside services, travel and/or other direct charges.
Physical RequirementsMay be required to visit job site in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
