Description
We are currently looking to add a talented Information Technology department in the CREA offices in Indianapolis, IN, or Boston, MA.

Position Summary:We are seeking an experienced AVP / Senior Azure DevOps Developer with a minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience; 10+ years is preferred. This hands-on leadership role combines Azure engineering, DevSecOps, infrastructure automation, full-stack software development, and Microsoft 365 integration. The successful candidate will help modernize applications, strengthen cloud operations, improve reliability, and establish scalable engineering practices.
Primary Responsibilities:Azure Cloud Engineering & Operations
- Design, deploy, configure, and maintain secure, scalable Azure environments across development, test, and production.
- Support Azure services including App Service, Functions, Virtual Machines, Storage, Key Vault, Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure SQL Database, SQL Managed Instance, and private networking.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, logging, backup, disaster recovery, reliability, and operational support practices.
- Apply cloud governance, tagging, capacity planning, cost optimization, and platform standards.
DevOps, CI/CD & Infrastructure as Code
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions for application and infrastructure releases.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning through Terraform and/or Azure Bicep using reusable, source-controlled modules.
- Automate configuration, deployments, testing, approvals, rollback, and release validation using YAML, PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Advance DevSecOps practices by integrating code quality, dependency, secret, and security controls into delivery pipelines.
Full-Stack Application Development
- Design, develop, test, and maintain responsive web applications using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Develop and support backend applications and services using PHP and Laravel.
- Create secure REST APIs, reusable services, background jobs, and integrations with enterprise systems.
- Troubleshoot across front-end, API, database, identity, network, and cloud hosting layers.
Microsoft 365 Add-ins & Integrations
- Develop and support Microsoft Office Add-ins, including Outlook, Excel, and Word Add-ins.
- Integrate applications with Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Graph API.
- Implement secure authentication using Microsoft Entra ID, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, single sign-on, managed identities, and RBAC.
- Use Power Automate or Power Apps when appropriate for low-code workflow and integration scenarios.
Additional Responsibilities:Data, Database & Integration
- Develop and optimize solutions using Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, Azure SQL Database, and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
- Create and maintain database objects, data access patterns, migration scripts, interfaces, and system integrations.
- Collaborate with data and reporting teams on data quality, performance, secure connectivity, and integration requirements.
Security, Compliance & Reliability
- Apply secure coding, least privilege, secrets management, encryption, network segmentation, and identity-first design practices.
- Partner with cybersecurity and compliance teams on vulnerabilities, audit evidence, access controls, and remediation.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, problem management, and continuous improvement.
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
- Provide hands-on technical leadership, architecture guidance, code reviews, engineering standards, and mentoring.
- Work with business, engineers, vendors, and business stakeholders within Agile delivery practices.
- Produce architecture diagrams, technical specifications, deployment runbooks, operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience across software development, Azure cloud engineering, DevOps, or platform operations.
- Hands-on experience deploying and supporting production workloads in Microsoft Azure.
- Strong development experience with Angular and TypeScript, together with PHP and Laravel.
- Practical experience creating and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines and source-control workflows.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Azure Bicep, or an equivalent technology.
- Experience developing and consuming REST APIs and integrating applications with identity and enterprise platforms.
- Working knowledge of SQL Server, T-SQL, and Azure database services.
- Proficiency with at least one automation language such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred:- 10+ years of relevant professional experience across software development, Azure cloud engineering, DevOps, or platform operations.
- Experience developing Microsoft Office Add-ins for Outlook, Excel, or Word.
- Experience with Microsoft Graph API, SharePoint Online, Entra ID application registrations, and single sign-on.
- Experience with Docker and container-based delivery; exposure to Azure Kubernetes Service is beneficial.
- Experience with Power Platform, Azure API Management, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, or Azure AI services.
- Experience modernizing on-premises applications and databases for Azure.
- Experience in regulated or audit-focused environments.
- Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-204, AZ-305, or AZ-400.

CompensationCompensation for this position is determined based on factors such as education, qualifications, relevant experience, and geographic location.

- Indianapolis, IN: $110,000 - $130,000
