Full Job Description
We are currently seeking an AVP of Commercial Portfolio Management to join our organization. As the AVP Commercial Portfolio Management, you'll support the ongoing risk monitoring maintenance, and renewals of high-quality, well-structured and profitable commercial loans in alignment with the Credit Union strategy. You'll ensure compliance with applicable regulation, sound risk management, and quality controls, while supporting excellent member service. You'll provide leadership and supervision of Commercial Portfolio Managers and Administrators to establish team metrics and ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial spreads, annual loan reviews, renewals, loan modifications, covenant testing, and loan documentation in support of each Portfolio Manager's assigned portfolio.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee, coordinate and assist in the daily activity of the Commercial Portfolio Management area to include assignment of duties and special projects, monitoring workload and productivity, planning and prioritization, problem resolution, and develops recommendations for change or improvement.
  • Provide overall direction for the underwriting function of the department to ensure timely and accurate completion of financial spreads, credit memoranda, loan modifications, annual loan reviews, and covenant testing for the assigned commercial loan portfolio.
  • Responsible for ensuring team meets of annual loan reviews and covenant tests requirements in accordance with policy and completes all applicable loan renewals on a timely basis.
  • Complete review of loan renewal credit request and annual loan reviews, ensuring quality, accuracy, and proper assessment of risk rating in accordance with policy.
  • Collaborate with team members to address any concerns within the credit and finalization of the review.
  • Decision credit requests within delegated authorities or recommend approval of final loan reviews to the appropriate approving official and escalates credit concerns to management along with recommended courses of action.


What You'll Need:

  • Five to eight years of similar or related experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting or related field


Key Skills and Experience:

  • Advanced experience in complex research and financial analysis, including knowledge financial spreading systems, and an ability to construct various ad hoc financial analyses.
  • Must possess knowledge of cash flow modeling, commercial leases, appraisal methodologies, applicable regulations (i.e., FIRREA, BSA, HMDA), NCUA regulatory guidance, financial accounting concepts (e.g., GAAP), and tax return analysis.
  • Must be able to handle multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, deal with sensitive information and handle problem resolution.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to work with multiple levels of the organization.
  • Development, performance management, training, and employee counseling skills essential.
