Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for an Aviation Training Division NFO WSO Instructor to deliver aviation instruction to international military students. This position will be located in Pensacola, FL, and will be a fully on-site position.

Responsibilities

The NITC ATD Naval Flight Officer and Weapon Systems Officer Instructor delivers aviation instruction to international military students at NAS Pensacola using established NITC curricula. The instructor brings current, relevant military aviation experience to academic, simulator, navigation, and mission-focused training.Responsibilities Provide NFO and WSO instruction to international military students at NAS Pensacola using existing NITC curricula. Deliver academic and simulator instruction supporting primary, intermediate, and advanced phases of NFO training within the instructor's qualifications. Support instruction in familiarization and instrument flight training, air and visual navigation, formation flying, cockpit-orientation trainers, instrument-navigation simulators, and air-to-air or air-to-ground subjects, as assigned. Review assigned curricula and submit recommended updates at the conclusion of each course. Maintain instructional and student documentation and provide associated administrative support required by the task order.

Bachelor's with 12+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills and Experience

  • Clearance Required: None
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 12 years of experience in the aviation field.
  • At least 1,000 total flight hours, 200 mission-commander hours, and 75 hours of night flying experience.
  • Prior active-duty service in the U.S. Armed Forces as a designated military aviator, flight instructor, and aircraft commander, as required by the contract labor category.
  • Recent experience supporting primary, intermediate, or advanced phases of NFO training.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and instruct students from varied military and cultural backgrounds.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Completion of Instructor Under Training, a military instructor training course, Flight Instructor Training Course, and Aircrew Coordination Training.
  • Current U.S. Navy Aviation Pre-Flight Indoctrination and flight-training curriculum experience.
  • Experience teaching meteorology, engines, aircraft flight systems, airframes, or aeronautical engineering.
  • Current or prior FAA qualifications applicable to civilian private-pilot flight or visual flight rules ground-school instruction.
