Full Job Description
Aviation Structural Engineer

Garver is seeking an Aviation Structural Engineer to help deliver high-profile aviation projects throughout Florida and across the United States. Based primarily in our Fort Lauderdale office (with opportunities in Tampa or Orlando possible), you'll have the opportunity to contribute to projects that directly impact millions of passengers annually, including terminal renovations and expansions, hangars, maintenance facilities, airport support buildings, parking structures, airfield facilities, and aircraft-rated structures, and other complex infrastructure projects at some of the nation's fastest-growing airports.

As part of Garver's rapidly expanding Florida Aviation Team, you'll collaborate with engineers, planners, and project managers supporting some of the most interesting airport facility improvement projects in the country. Our team is actively delivering projects ranging from terminal modernization and facility improvements to large-scale aviation infrastructure programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as structural lead on complex aviation projects.
  • Guide design decisions and mentor developing engineers.
  • Collaborate directly with nationally recognized aviation leaders and clients.
  • Influence project delivery strategies from planning through construction.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional structural engineering experience.
  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or architectural engineering with a structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Florida or ability to obtain licensure in Florida within 3 months of joining Garver.
  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and a good team player.

Preferred Experience and Skills
  • Experience working on airport facility projects.
  • Existing building assessments and rehabilitation.
  • Structural design for hurricane- and wind-resilient facilities.
  • Construction phase services.
  • Project management and task leadership.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
