Position Overview:
Extron is looking for an AV Systems Design Engineer to support its well-established network of professional audiovisual consultants and integrators. This customer-facing role combines advanced AV system design expertise with technical sales responsibilities.
The AV Systems Design Engineer works closely with Extron customers to develop system designs, deliver product and applications training, identify new project opportunities, and influence product specifications. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted technical advisor who helps customers select Extron solutions while supporting opportunities from initial design through commissioning and project completion.
Responsibilities:
Assist consultants and integrators with the development of Extron AV system designs and documentation.
Review AV system requests for proposals, drawings, and specifications to develop accurate bills of material.
Recommend appropriate Extron products and system architecture based on customer requirements.

Qualifications
5+ years of experience designing professional AV systems.

Experience conducting onsite commissioning and troubleshooting AV system installations.
Ability to manage multiple customer engagements, projects, and follow-up activities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with AutoCAD or Visio is a plus.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D certification is a plus.
CompTIA Network+ or CCNA certification is a plus.
Travel up to 40% is required. Travel includes local customer meetings, site visits, and occasional domestic air travel.
Salary range: $110,000-$140,000. Pay may vary depending on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
