About the Position Campus Services and Activities is seeking an Auxiliary Services Systems Analyst, Senior, to lead technical operations for hardware, software, and system integrations that are critical to daily campus auxiliary operations. The ideal candidate is reliable and results-driven, is responsive to operational and end user needs, elicits feedback to improve processes, and has a firm understanding of technical concepts and business applications. They will ensure high performance of customer-facing, revenue-generating, and specialized university auxiliary services systems, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
This in-person position (Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, AZ) will primarily support university auxiliary business units highlighted on the Campus Services & Activities website - https://in.nau.edu/campus-services-and-activities/.
Responsibilities Include 75% - Enterprise Applications, Infrastructure Management & Technical Operations
- Provide highly responsive support to a wide range of mission critical technical components including point of sale (POS) terminals and peripherals, meal plan and declining balance systems, event ticketing, room and resource reservations and other auxiliary-specific systems.
- Manage Azure cloud infrastructure associated with auxiliary services applications, integrations, automation workflows, and secure data exchange across campus systems.
- Utilize Azure DevOps for source control, pipelines, work tracking, testing, code reviews, and collaborative application development.
- Utilize PowerShell to automate and streamline system administration, reduce manual effort, and improve operational efficiency across enterprise platforms.
- Manage ETL workflows that utilize SSIS packages, SQL Server Agent jobs, APIs, and SFTP to enable secure, reliable data exchange between auxiliary services applications.
- Provide technical mentorship to other analysts and support staff and provide training for technical and non-technical users on system functionality, best practices, and troubleshooting for auxiliary services applications.
- Create and maintain technical documentation including architecture diagrams, data flows, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides to support system knowledge and continuity.
- Assist with planning and prioritizing technology initiatives and system roadmaps to align technical solutions with departmental and university strategic goals.
- Lead technical project teams for system implementations, upgrades, and integrations, coordinating efforts across technical and functional stakeholders.
- Provide back-up support to university partners' IT personnel during special events and daily business operations.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute hardware and software projects encompassing device setup, configuration, testing, deployment, upgrades, and end-user support.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to gather requirements, resolve complex issues, and implement scalable technical solutions.
- Diagnose root causes of problems, propose solutions and coordinate with campus resources to implement approved projects.
- Respond to urgent after-hours technical issues to maintain critical system availability and minimize impact to campus operations.
- Assist with disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution to ensure business continuity for essential campus services systems.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and provide adoption recommendations based on business alignment, technical feasibility, and cost benefit analysis.
- Follows all NAU IT policies and coordinates with IT services in the design, development, implementation, and operation of auxiliary services assets.
- Follows federal guidelines for physical and cybersecurity, export laws, and other regulatory compliances set forth by federal and state government, granting agencies, etc.
15% - Staff Management, Mentorship & Workforce Development
- Provide direct supervision to other Auxiliary Services Systems Analysts and student employees, including work prioritization, mentoring, performance feedback, and support for professional development.
- Oversee day-to-day operational support and project work performed by assigned staff, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to technical standards, and alignment with auxiliary services business needs.
- Participate in hiring processes by evaluating technical qualifications, conducting interviews, and providing recommendations to support informed personnel decisions.
10% - Other
- Participate in departmental and university-wide committees and user groups, representing technical perspectives, sharing expertise, tracking emerging technologies, and contributing to strategic planning and institutional technology direction.
- Participates, cooperates, and facilitates any IT or financial audits according to guidance provided by the VP of Operations, VP of ITS, or other overseeing university officials.
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
- 3 years of relevant experience.
*A combination of related education, experience, and training may be used as an equivalent to the above Minimum Qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience: 7 years of relevant experience.
- One or more of the following: Azure Fundamentals, A+, Network+, Security+, Cloud+.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities - Strong knowledge of Windows computer configuration, hardware, and peripheral devices.
- Advanced Microsoft SQL Server skills supporting campus auxiliary systems, including databases, data repositories, and SSIS jobs.
- Advanced understanding of application programming languages, development concepts, and system integration principles.
- Working knowledge of enterprise IT technologies, including networking, desktop operating systems, and mobile platforms.
- Ability to learn, configure, and support specialized auxiliary business systems and technical tools.
- Proven capability to research, diagnose, and resolve complex and ambiguous technical issues.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to plan, manage, and execute multiple projects with competing priorities.
- Demonstrate resourcefulness, creativity, and initiative when addressing operational challenges and takes preventive action to minimize operational impact.

Compensation Budgeted salary is $89,551.00. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.
