Join Caterpillar's Autonomy team and play a key role in launching autonomous technology at quarry operations in North America.

As anAutonomous Hauling Technology Consultant, you'll be at the forefront of bringingCatMineStarCommand for Haulingto life, helping customers successfully adopt and optimize one of the most advanced autonomous haulage systems in the world. You'll partner with customers, Cat dealers, and Caterpillar experts to ensure autonomous operations are running safely, efficiently, and at peak performance.

This is a highly visible role where you'll serve as the trusted technical advisor during site launch and operational ramp-up. You'll troubleshoot complex system challenges, optimize performance, provide expert guidance, and help customers realize the full value of autonomous hauling technology. While you'll spend your time at the HUB, your focus is on technical leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration with the field team.

What you will do:

  • Lead the optimization of MineStarCommand for Hauling at customer sites, and driving system performance to achieve and sustain safety, productivity, and operational targets.

  • Serve as trusted advisor to customer teams on all aspects of system performance, reliability, and fleet optimization, with a strong focus on optimize performance.

  • Monitor system performance, leveraging autonomy and machine data to identify trends, troubleshoot complex issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions that improve reliability and productivity.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, operational excellence, production optimization, and long-term customer success.

  • Develop and maintain training materials, quality assurance processes, quality control standards, and operational documentation to support knowledge transfer and sustainable site performance.

  • Partner with Caterpillar engineering and product support to resolve technical challenges, enhance system capabilities, and influence future product development through Voice of Customer feedback.

  • Contribute to the development of Remote Operations Support capabilities by improving processes, tools, and best practices as autonomous mining solutions continue to scale globally.

What you9ll bring:

Technical Excellence:Deep technical expertise inmining or quarry technologies, including machine control systems, off-board communications, networking, electronic system integration, or autonomous mining solutions. Handson experience implementing or supportingMineStar Command for Haulingin operational environments. Backgrounds such as Onboard Specialist, Command Service Engineer, Pit Technician, MineStar Application Specialist, or similar mining technology roles are highly valued.

Field Support:Proven experience providing field support and maintaining complex hardware and software systems. Demonstrated success supporting customers remotely and on-site that deliver solutions in fast-paced mining or industrial settings.

Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to independently anticipate, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve organizational, operational, technical, and process-related challenges, implementing effective solutions that minimize disruption and sustain safe, productive operations.

Communication skills:Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work autonomously at customer sites while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and technical experts. Comfortable translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable information and building credibility with customers and operational leaders.

Analytical Skills:Strong diagnostic approach forelectronic systemsand networks; aptitude with logs/telemetry to understand root cause.

Top candidates will also have:

A degree inElectrical, Mechanical, or Mining Engineering.

Handson experience withCommand for Hauling onboarding,Terrain,AOZ access,Command Builder, andPit Techniciantools.

Additional Information:

The position is based inPhoenix, Arizona, and requires 25-50% travel to visit customer sites.

Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location,job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
