Overview

General Function:

The Manager, Automotive Service Technician Training Programs provides strategic leadership and operational oversight across multiple technician training pathways. This role ensures curriculum alignment, maintains program standards, leads communications, supports partner schools, oversees reporting processes, and guides all aspects of entry level technician development. The Manager acts as a central point of contact for participating institutions and stakeholders, ensuring smooth, consistent, and effective program execution.

Specific Duties:
  • Strategic Leadership & Program Direction
    • Lead the repurposing and adaptation of established training content into cohesive entry level technician curriculum used across multiple training environments.
    • Establish annual program priorities such as curriculum updates, training path development, and standards integration to ensure alignment across training partners.
  • Operational Oversight & Administration
    • Manage recurring reporting cycles, including monthly donations reporting, weekly enrollment status tracking, and performance updates as required.
    • Support graduation processing by coordinating competency verification, updating records, and ensuring prompt credit assignment.
  • School & Institutional Engagement
    • Serve as the main point of contact for participating schools, supporting program operations, communication needs, and performance expectations.
    • Collaborate with schools to establish performance metrics, maintain scorecards, and review improvement plans developed by school administrators.
  • Committee Participation & Program Representation
    • Participate actively in standards related and curriculum focused committees, contributing to program alignment and ongoing development.
    • Present program updates and performance information at meetings, training events, and educator gatherings throughout the year.
    • Support regional and national training events, competitions, and meetings as required by program stakeholders.
  • Website, Systems & Infrastructure Leadership
    • Manage the secure program website used by partner schools for data submission, tracking, and reporting functions.
    • Maintain and distribute policies, procedures, and best practices documentation to all participating schools.

Qualifications

Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in any combination of the following: automotive service, technical training support, workforce development, administrative program coordination, or related technical/educational settings.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort presenting information to groups.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, reports, and partner relationships effectively.
  • Comfortable learning and using learning management systems or similar digital tools.

Desired Experience:
  • Experience coordinating training programs, curriculum activities, or school/industry partnerships.
  • Exposure to standards committees, curriculum review teams, or technical training environments.

Education:
  • Associate degree in Automotive Technology, Industrial Technology, Technical Education, or a related field.
