Job Description:

GliaCell is seeking a Automated Test Engineer on one of our subcontracts. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to support a U.S. Government customer. The mission is to provide technical expertise that assists in sustaining critical mission-related software and systems to a large government contract.

Key Requirements:

To be considered for this position you must have the following:
  • Possess an active or rein-statable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
  • An active Top Secret clearance with polygraph (CI within the last 7 years).
  • Professional/Education experience:
  • Junior Level - 2+ years of related experience (A Bachelor's degree is desired)
  • Mid Level - 8+ years of related experience (A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for four (4) years of DevOps experience; a Master's degree can be substituted for two (2) years' experience.)
  • Senior Level - 12+ years of related experience (A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for four (4) years of DevOps experience; a Master's degree can be substituted for two (2) years' experience.)
  • Principal Level - 16+ years of related experience (A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for four (4) years of DevOps experience; a Master's degree can be substituted for two (2) years' experience.)
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Works well independently as well as on a team.

Description:
  • You will work on the Report Authoring and Dissemination (RAD) team.
  • The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, passionate about software quality, and has a strong background in developing robust automated test suites.
  • This role involves close collaboration with a cross-functional Agile team of software developers, system engineers, and product owners to validate functional enhancements and support the ongoing modernization of authoring and dissemination tools.

Responsibilities:
  • Test Automation Design & Development: Independently design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable automated UI and API test scripts utilizing Cypress.
  • Test Execution & Reporting: Execute automated test suites, analyze results, troubleshoot failures, and comprehensively document defects and testing metrics.
  • Integration & Delivery: Partner with DevOps and software engineers to integrate automated testing seamlessly into the CI/CD pipeline (e.g., GitLab CI/CD) to ensure continuous quality and rapid feedback.
  • Collaboration: Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, demos) and work with the team to understand functional requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage for all new features and bug fixes.

Required Skills:
  • Proven experience designing, writing, and maintaining automated tests using Cypress. Please ensure automation experience is specifically described on resume.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript for test script development.
  • Experience testing modern web applications, RESTful microservices, and APIs.
  • Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Practical experience with Agile software development methodologies and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git).

Desired Skills:
  • Experience configuring and integrating automated tests within CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI/CD).
  • Familiarity with Cloud-based architecture and deployment (Amazon Web Services).
  • Basic understanding of containerization (Docker) to test applications in consistent environments.
  • Familiarity with domain knowledge surrounding government agency reporting and dissemination policies.

Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland (Partial Telework up to 2 days per week)
Note: Telework granted for this position does not become available until after the individual has been in the position for a period of time, has acclimated to tasking/duties, and has meaningful work that can be done remotely. Telework can also be removed at any time.

Salary Range: The salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 to $260,000. Our salary ranges are determined by position, level, skills, professional experience, relevant education and certifications. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for this position across our projects. Within the range, your salary is determined by your individual benefits package selection. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred position during the hiring process. SIGN-ON BONUS ELIGIBLE.
