Location: NYC, Flatiron office. In-person team, five days a week. Many of the largest firms in the country run real audit work on Basis today. Agents execute procedures, prepare workpapers, and complete testing that used to consume entire teams, and we9re still early. We work at the frontier of what applied AI can do, and audit is some of the most demanding territory there is: work that has to be right, defensible, and held to professional standards. This role works cross-functionally across the organization to ensure our audit quality meets today9s standards, and the standards we believe an AI-forward profession will demand. The hardest, most consequential problems in auditing are being worked on here, right now. You9d be at the center of them. What you9ll be doing 39;You9ll own how audit works inside Basis, ensuring that what our agents produce reflects how firms actually audit and holds up to professional standards. 39;You9ll work closely with the largest firms in the country as they bring their ways of working onto the platform, and make that experience better with every firm. 39;You9ll work directly with our product and ML teams on agent behavior and what agents can own next, your judgment about where audit is going help shapes what we build. 39;You9ll represent Basis in front of national offices and quality leaders, owning the conversations about how our agents do audit work. 39;When the profession9s standards change, you9ll own what changes in Basis. What you9ll bring 39;8+ years in audit, including real years running engagements end to end at a large firm. 39;Time in a national office, professional practice, or methodology group, you9ve been the person the practice calls when the answer has to be right. 39;Experience building the firm9s methodology into something usable: manuals, templates, practice aids, tool content, or the audit platform itself. When a new standard landed, you translated it into what engagement teams actually use. 39;Experience communicating methodology to demanding audiences, training practitioners, briefing leadership, or defending an approach in peer review or inspection. 39;CPA license required. What we9d love to see 39;Experience working closely with technology teams to get methodology into the firm9s audit tools: content, tailoring logic, diagnostics. 39;Implementation experience: you9ve rolled a methodology, platform, or new standard out across a practice and lived what adoption actually takes. 39;Strategic range: comfortable going deep on a practice aid one minute and can help shape product direction the next. Grounded in how audits work today, but not bound by it. 39;You9ve already been thinking about what AI does to this profession, not waiting to be told.
