Job Description
Practice with Autonomy. Lead with Experience. Grow without Limits.
Join us now and help lead the transition into our brand-new facility in 2026!
Catskill Veterinary Services is seeking an Experienced General Practice Veterinarian to join our growing team. Your primary focus will be on Comprehensive Primary Care at our Rock Hill or Middletown locations.
You have put in the years. You know your medicine. Now, you need a hospital that respects your expertise, supports your workflow, and offers you a future that is more than just the daily grind.
WE ARE PROUDLY VETERINARIAN-FOUNDED & OWNED. We aren't run by a remote board or a spreadsheet. We are run by veterinarians who understand the floor. We prioritize clinical excellence, realistic scheduling, and the well-being of our team.
THE EXPERIENCED VET ADVANTAGE:
• Impressive Earning Potential: Salary range of $100,000 - $200,000 (based on experience, schedule, and production).
• Production Bonuses: Significant additional earning potential based on revenue (with no negative accrual).
• Clinical Autonomy: No cookie-cutter protocols. We trust you to manage your cases and tailor treatment plans to the patient.
• Built-In Career Path: Just because you are experienced doesn't mean you are done growing. Want to do more than GP? You have a built-in career path here. Whether you want to pick up ER shifts, focus on a specific specialty (like Orthopedics or Ultrasound), or explore Advanced Care, you can evolve your career without leaving the practice.
• Future Growth: We are breaking ground on a brand new, state-of-the-art hospital opening in 2026. This is your chance to have a voice in the growth of our GP department.
ABOUT CATSKILL VETERINARY SERVICES
We are the primary hub for veterinary care in Sullivan County, the Hudson Valley, and beyond. We are a "Full Scope" network designed to support the patient at every stage of life.
• Our Network: Your home base will be Rock Hill or Middletown for Primary Care. However, we also operate a location in Newburgh focused on Emergency & Advanced Care.
• The "No Referral Black Hole" Advantage: As a seasoned GP, you know the frustration of sending a critical case to an ER and never hearing back. Here, the ER is us. You have direct access to the internal team managing your hospitalized patients, ensuring true continuity of care and client satisfaction.
• Honoring the Bond: We know that long-term client relationships are the heart of GP. We provide the time and resources you need to maintain those bonds.
THE SUPPORT YOU DESERVE
You are a Doctor, not a Technician. We have curated a team designed to maximize your efficiency.
• Licensed & Capable: You will be flanked by a powerhouse team of Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) and experienced assistants. They handle the blood draws, catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring so you can focus on diagnosis, surgery, and client communication.
• Floor-Savvy Management: Our management team comes from the floor. They know how to manage a schedule to keep the day running smoothly and protect your workflow.
LIFE IN THE HUDSON VALLEY
Work where you love to live. No matter where you choose to settle in the beautiful Hudson Valley, you are in an incredible place to call home.
• Ideally Located: We are a short, scenic drive to NYC. You can enjoy the city culture on your days off, but live in an area with a lower cost of living, more land, and less traffic.
• The Good Life: The Hudson Valley is the food and drink capital of NY state. Enjoy farm-to-table dining, world-class wineries, and a vibrant art scene (Storm King, Dia:Beacon, Bethel Woods).
• Outdoor Access: Decompress after a shift by hiking Minnewaska, kayaking the Hudson or Delaware Rivers, or skiing in the winter.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• DVM/VMD Degree: With experience in General Practice, Dentistry, and Soft Tissue Surgery.
• NYS License: Current license (or ability to obtain one).
• Collaboration: We value your experience and encourage you to share it. We will meet you with the energy and drive you bring to the table. Whether you want to serve as a mentor to younger associates or simply focus on your own high-level caseload, we support you.
• Client Connection: A professional who understands the value of client education and the human-animal bond.
THE BENEFITS PACKAGE
We take care of our people so they can take care of the pets.
• Generous Paid Time Off (PTO): We believe in time off to recharge.
• Flexible Scheduling: We work with you to create a schedule that prevents burnout.
• Continuing Education (CE): Annual CE allowance and paid days off.
• 401(k) with employer match.
• Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance.
• Aflac Supplemental Insurance.
• Professional Fees Paid: NYS License, DEA, PLIT, and AVMA/NYSVMS dues.
• Uniform Allowance: Scrubs/lab coats provided.
• Employee Discounts: Generous discounts on pet care for your own pets.
Practice the medicine you love with a team that respects your experience.
