Position Overview

Join PetVet Care Centers as an Associate Veterinarian (DVM or VMD) supporting Echo Park Veterinary Hospital. You'll practice alongside an experienced team of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff, in close partnership with the Care Center / Hospital Manager and Regional Director. It's the local heart of a care center with its own identity, team, and culture-backed by the support and resources of a national network.

Located in north Los Angeles, Echo Park Veterinary Hospital is ready to welcome a third Associate Veterinarian to a close-knit, experienced team committed to exceptional care, having fun, and looking out for one another. Just two miles from Dodger Stadium and surrounded by parks, Echo Park maintains its historic character within a modern city-offering vibrant street murals, indie music venues, taco trucks, and quirky boutiques, along with paddle boating among the lotus blooms at Echo Park Lake and nearby hiking at Elysian Park.

For Doctors interested in a different way to structure their role, Echo Park offers flexible scheduling options, including:
  • Three-day workweeks
  • Four-day workweeks
  • A 3/4/3 schedule

If flexibility is important to you, we'll work together to explore a schedule that aligns with how you want to work.

Compensation for other schedule options will be commensurate with hours worked. Full benefit packages are available for schedules of 30+ hours per week. Select benefit packages are available for part-time team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient exams, medical work-ups, diagnostics, dentistry, and surgery within your scope of practice
  • Communicate clearly with clients and provide education about diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care
  • Maintain complete and accurate medical records
  • Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with controlled-substance protocols
  • Partner with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities, workflow, and team efficiency
  • Monitor cases from intake through discharge and participate in rounds when appropriate
  • Support a collaborative, respectful, and efficient care team
  • Participate in practice updates, training, and continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications (Required)
  • DVM or VMD degree from an accredited college or university
  • Current state veterinary license, or eligibility to obtain one
  • DEA registration obtained and maintained as required
  • At least one year of veterinary practice experience, unless otherwise approved for the role
  • Strong diagnostic, clinical, surgical, and dental skills
  • Clear, timely, and compassionate communication with clients and team members
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Confidence supporting pets experiencing stress, illness, or pain
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including lifting up to 50 pounds

Pay Range (based on a full-time, 40-hour workweek)

$175,000-$195,000 USD for the Associate structure
