The Department of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Washington invites applications for Director of Graduate Prosthodontics program at the rank of Associate Professor of Clinical Practice.

We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The appointment term for the rank of Associate Professor of Clinical Practice ranges from one to seven years, with no limit on the number of reappointments. This appointment is not eligible for tenure. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a twelve-month full-time basis for an initial term of three years beginning March 1, 2027, or earlier.

The base salary range for this position will be $15,000 - $19,166 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Other compensation associated with the position may include a moving allowance, and salary supplement for administrative services as Graduate Program Director for the Graduate Prosthodontics Program

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Devote a significant portion of effort to clinical supervision and clinic coverage in support of patient care, student learning, and programmatic needs.
• Provide advanced didactic and laboratory instruction in fixed, removable, and digital prosthodontics, and supervise students in the delivery of patient care and clinical treatment.
• Develop and enhance program curriculum.
• Provide comprehensive oversight of program compliance with Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) standards, and ensure continuous readiness, regulatory adherence, evidence-based assessment, and successful accreditation outcomes.
• Provide oversight of program compliance with University of Washington Graduate School requirements to ensure ongoing adherence to academic policies and a successful program review outcomes.
• Contribute to patient-centered, interdisciplinary care, teaching, and collaborative treatment planning.
• Mentor and support student research activities.Ensure the financial viability of the clinic.
• Contribute to activities that advance teaching, learning, research, and clinical practice.

The University of Washington Graduate Prosthodontics program is a CODA accredited 3-year residency training program. The program includes instruction in Fixed Prosthodontics, Removable Prosthodontics, Implant Prosthodontics and Maxillofacial Prosthetics. Students completing the program are awarded a Certificate in Prosthodontics and a Master of Science in Dentistry. The Master of Science in Dentistry degree (MSD) requires planning, executing and defending an acceptable research project in addition to the didactic and clinical prosthodontic training.

Qualifications

Applicants for this clinical practice faculty position must meet the following minimum qualifications:

• DDS, DMD, or foreign equivalent.
• Completion of a post graduate program in Prosthodontics accredited by the ADA/CODA.
• US Board Certification in Prosthodontics
• Minimum of five years' experience providing didactic and clinical instruction in an academic setting.
• Eligibility for dental licensure in Washington
