Full Job Description
MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS:

The Associate OBGYN Medical Director will:

Have administrative responsibilities and will work in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and as required, with the Chief Operating Officer (COO). Provide supervision and leadership to the clinical staff within the OBGYN department at all EVCHC sites and implement necessary activities to ensure a high level of care. This includes:
  • Orientation
  • Training
  • Clinical performance evaluations
  • Participation in annual Performance Evaluations
  • In conjunction with CMO, implementation of corrective measures with individual OBGYN providers
  • Assist the CMO in reviewing/developing and implementing appropriate Quality Improvement Standards for EVCHC's OBGYN clinical services.
  • Stay informed of regulatory changes for the practice of medicine as well contract requirements affecting the OBGYN clinical practice of EVCHC.
  • Provide necessary trainings to OBGYN medical providers and other staff members in order to ensure compliance with EVCHC clinical policies and procedures, health plan and contract clinical guidelines.
  • In conjunction with CMO, develop relationships with local specialists and hospitals in order to expand and facilitate access to specialty care for EVCHC OBGYN patients.
  • Participate in Quality Improvement Committee as required by the CMO.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Active participation in EVCHC medical provider activities.
  • As required, participation in Recruitment Activities for physicians.
  • Provide women's health care exams, prenatal care, contraceptive and STI services within the scope of EVCHC's OBGYN practice.
  • Identify high-risk patients, and refer to outside sources in accordance with clinical protocols.
  • Accurately complete all necessary charting according to clinical protocols and mandated by funding source guidelines and health plan standards.
  • Identify patients with sexual, dietary social and/or mental problems and refer them to appropriate resources.
  • Serve as a preceptor to OBGYN Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants and medical students as required.
  • In conjunction with the CMO, and input from other OB/GYN providers update Medical Protocols as necessary.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must possess a valid license to practice in California, DEA, and Board Certification.
  • Satisfactory completion of an accredited training program.
  • Ability to work well with patients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required.
  • Must relate well to all cultural and ethnic groups in the community.

DOE: $257,088 - $283,414
