The Associate Medical Director - Clinical Informatics is responsible for providing clinical leadership for health information technology at Venice Family Clinic (VFC) and provides clinical oversight of the implementation and maintenance of the electronic health record (EHR). They collaborate with the clinical, program, and administrative teams to identify new interfaces, evaluate existing programs, and determine which programs and clinical interventions best serve VFC's health information system. The Associate Medical Director of Clinical Informatics develops and implements training programs with the Clinic's EMR trainers to train all VFC staff medical providers on electronic health records and health information technology used for direct patient care. Clinical care accounts for a minimum of 60% of their work duties; administrative and management supervisory responsibilities account for the other 40%. The Associate Medical Director of Clinical Informatics functions independently on a daily basis and reports to the CMO.
The University of California, Los Angeles is required to provide an estimate of the salary range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Salary offers are based on candidate qualifications and experience. The target salary range for this position is 250,000-348,100 annual base salary.

Required Qualifications:
- MD or DO Degree
- An active, unrestricted CA license
- Epic Builder Certification
- Board Certified in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Med/Peds
- Five to ten years' experience as a primary care physician
- Minimum of five years experience in a leadership position in a primary care setting, FQHC and Community Clinics preferred.
- Knowledgeable in Health Informatics and prior experience using EPIC, data systems, and electronic health records (EHR) for management, reporting, and quality management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a volunteer, staff member, or faculty member in a setting serving underserved people.
- Ability to speak and communicate in verbal/written Spanish
- Knowledge of medical problems of minority, medically underserved populations, and the homeless.
