Job Description:
Key requirements/skills summary
Strong technical depth in Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux, AWS, patching, and vulnerability remediation.
Demonstrated project management discipline, including planning, milestone tracking, execution, and proactive escalation.
Detailed Overview
We are seeking a strong backfill candidate with a blend of hands-on infrastructure engineering expertise, project ownership, and leadership capability. This role requires expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2019 and newer, including installation, configuration, user access management, NIC configuration, and troubleshooting. The candidate should also have a working proficiency with Linux, specifically Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu, including familiarity with core OS structure, basic command-line administration, and a foundational understanding of shell scripting.
The ideal candidate will bring deep Active Directory experience, including user access management, trust relationship configuration, GPO creation and implementation, domain controller promotion and demotion, and the design of new AD environments. They should also have working knowledge of AWS, along with experience using patch deployment tools such as Ivanti and vulnerability scanning platforms such as Rapid7. This includes the ability to create and manage deployment groups, schedule and validate patching activity, configure and run scans, and interpret scan results to identify and coordinate remediation actions.
In addition to technical skills, this role requires strong project management and organizational discipline. The individual must be able to work with project teams to refine scope, develop and present Plans of Action and Milestones (POAMs), coordinate meetings, engage the right teams to complete work, track milestones and action items, escalate risks proactively, and provide clear written and verbal status updates. Strong Excel skills are also important, including spreadsheet creation, file comparison and merging, pivot tables, calculations, and tracker development for hardware, software, and remediation efforts.
This person will ultimately be responsible for documenting, monitoring, and maintaining an entire client account environment. They will serve as the primary point of contact for issues within that environment and will coordinate efforts across the account team, ISB Infrastructure, and corporate teams. Because of that, we need someone who is technically strong, highly organized, accountable, quick to learn, and capable of providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.
