The Mount Laurel Office in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey is looking for a General Liability Associate Attorney to join our growing team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Evaluate new files.
- Client communications.
- Discovery production.
- Research and prepare legal memoranda on various areas of law.
- Prepare and argue discovery.
- Substantive, dispositive pre- and post-trial motions and appeals.
- Attend pretrial listings.
- Motions and trial.
Position Requirements:
- Must have a JD degree from an ABA-approved law school and maintain an active license in good standing in New Jersey.
- 3-5 years of civil litigation experience required; insurance defense experience strongly preferred.
- Experience handling all phases of litigation, including pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, trial preparation, and developing litigation strategy.
- Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload, prioritize multiple deadlines, and provide timely reporting while meeting court and client expectations.
- Strong legal research, analytical, writing, oral advocacy, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, including experience preparing dispositive motions, discovery motions, and settlement evaluations.
- Experience communicating effectively with insurance carriers, claims professionals, clients, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses, while delivering exceptional client service.
- Familiarity with state and federal court rules and proficiency with legal research platforms, Microsoft Office, and case management/timekeeping software.
- Trial, arbitration, or evidentiary hearing experience is a plus. Must be a self-motivated, organized team player who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

This is a hybrid position.
The salary for this position includes, but is not limited to, a range of $100,000-$120,000 and represents C&W's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend upon a number of factors, included but not limited to experience and qualifications.
